Data Structure

Underneath ESS a lot of database tables manage the content. In order to give you a small overview, we simplify the structure to a more functional view:

Companies
Companies are devided into suppliers and customers. Both of them have theier contact list and the activities you were doing with them.

Contacts
Since contacts tend to change companies, we decided to have a more flexible data model. A contact may have seberal companies assigned. That mean that you have a small curriculum vitae of your contacts to all the companies they were working for, including tltphone number, emails, etc. So, if the contact left the company, you still may call "his" old number and talk to the new employee who took over his place. Step by step, year by year your database becomes a valuable source of business contacts.

Orders
Orders may be generated by the Web Shop, by another application via an Web Service call, or by yourself. The orders end up in the order workflow unit.

Store
The store keeps track of the products available and theier location.

Products
A product can be assigned to a supplier. It has options and categories, which can be assigned individually.

Web Shop
The web shop brings all together and generates orders.
